1970s Vintage Long Coat and Hat Knitting Pattern with Crochet Edging for Women: A coat for everyone is a shaft of heathery tweed, all straight pieces of knitting lined with crochet fagoting (half double crochet and chain stitch). Yarn braids and matching hat tie it all together.
Directions for small size 6-8, medium (10-12) and large (14-16).
Body bust size: 30 1/2- 31 1/2 (32 1/2- 34 : 36-38) inches.
Blocked bust Size (closed): 36 inches (38-40 inches).
Materials: Columbia-Minerva Trilogy or Truly Bulky, 17 (19-21) 1 3/4-oz balls (A) and Columbia-Minerva Amy, 2 1-oz balls (B).
Knitting needles No. 9.
Crochet hook size H.
2 1/2 yards 1 inch wide grosgrain ribbon. Matching sewing thread.
Gauge: 4 sts = 1 inch; 9 rows = 2 inches.
